About Us
Ampleks Investments is a private, founder-led investment firm. We invest in private companies, lend to businesses, and finance real estate.
The firm
Ampleks puts capital to work in three ways: equity in innovative companies, short-term loans to businesses, and loans secured by real estate. We invest in and lend to businesses wherever they are based, and we lend on real estate in Texas only.
Over the years we have backed more than a dozen private companies, in fields ranging from identity and security software to healthcare, manufacturing, and marketing technology, as well as service businesses. Some we still hold today, and others we have since exited.
We take a long-term view. Whether we are investing in a company or making a loan, we look for strong fundamentals, capable people, and a clear path forward, and we structure each deal to fit the situation in front of us.
We keep the process simple and personal. We take the time to understand each opportunity, move quickly when timing matters, and stay engaged after the capital is in place.
Our founder
James Litton is an entrepreneur, investor, and technologist with more than thirty years of experience building and leading organizations across global markets.
James held senior leadership roles at Coca-Cola, Veritas, Symantec, and Cray, working across the Americas, Africa, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
He then founded Identity Automation, an identity and access management software company, serving as President and CEO through its formative and growth years. He went on to support the company as its board chairman through its acquisition in 2025.
He founded Ampleks Investments to put that operating experience to work.
